Job summary

U.S. Bank in Charlotte, NC is seeking an Accounting Manager to support the accounting, financial reporting, and control environment for a broker-dealer with fixed income activities.

You will manage accounting close deliverables, journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting across products such as fixed income, underwriting, repos, and VRDNs. The role requires broker-dealer product knowledge, strong GAAP expertise, and collaboration with front office, operations, treasury, and audit teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (preferred) or related field.
• Six or more years of accounting experience.
• Experience with broker-dealer products and transaction flows is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily, monthly, and quarterly accounting activities for capital markets and broker-dealer products, including trade date and settlement date accounting, accruals, valuations support, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Review accounting treatment for trading inventory, underwriting positions, financing transactions, and related revenue/expense recognition.
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of accounting for trading gains/losses, underwriting fees, and deal-related revenue.
• Manage close deliverables, journal entries, substantiations, and reconciliations; partner with operations and product control.
• Support accounting analysis for complex transactions and new products.
• Assist in development and maintenance of accounting policies and control documentation.
