Job summary

First Command Financial Services, Inc. is seeking a Bank Accounting Manager to lead bank accounting operations, month-end close, GL governance, and financial reporting.

You will strengthen regulatory reporting processes, including CECL accounting, and provide technical accounting guidance for new products and regulatory requirements. You will mentor staff, support ALCO and management reporting, ensure strong internal controls, and collaborate with IT to improve automation and data integrity

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
• Advanced degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting, financial reporting, or controllership experience required.
• Experience in banking, financial services, or public accounting preferred.
• Experience with bank accounting activities and regulatory reporting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close, general ledger governance, and financial statement preparation.
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, internal controls over financial reporting, and policy documentation.
• Manage regulatory reporting support, Call Report schedules, and external audit requests.
• Review and document accounting treatments for new products, services, and system changes.
• Support ALCO reporting data and management/board reporting materials.
• Mentor accounting staff and coordinate cross-functional accounting work with Finance, Operations, Risk, and IT.
• Maintain GL configurations, posting logic, and documentation; drive automation and data integrity.
