Job summary

Northern Virginia Community College is seeking an Inventory Specialist to track and receive assets, ensuring accurate updates in all inventory systems across campuses. Responsibilities include auditing fixed assets, guiding Storeroom Managers on tag requests, training AIS/eVA users, and supporting Accounts Payable for asset payments.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Property Control Manager with the financial accounting of all fixed assets transactions at Northern Virginia Community College.
• Ensure central inventory database is maintained at all locations and all fixed assets are tracked and documented.
• Prepare reconciliation reports and perform analysis for the College Physical Inventory.
• Research to identify assets received but not reported to the Property Control Office.
• Develop guidance to Storeroom Managers on tag requests and financial documentation for fixed assets.
• Train AIS and eVA users to ensure inventory record accuracy and integrity.
• Prepare financial fixed assets reports for audits and for the College Internal Auditors.
• Serve as a liaison with Accounts Payable to obtain payment information for fixed assets receiving transactions.
• Cross-trains and supports Warehouse Services with day-to-day mailroom and delivery operations as needed.
