Job summary

MSU Denver is seeking a Fixed Asset Accountant to monitor, reconcile, and safeguard the university’s fixed assets using Workday and Excel. The role involves determining operating vs. capital leases under GASB, reviewing debt obligations, and maintaining depreciation schedules.

You will interact with a diverse set of internal departments and stakeholders while ensuring compliance and accurate reporting. The position supports the Budget Office, negotiates with bond counsel, and ensures timely bond

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Monitor fixed assets, leases, and bonds; ensure GAAP/GASB compliance.
• Reconcile cash, CIP, retainage, and plant fund ledgers monthly.
• Prepare depreciation schedules and asset listings in Workday and Excel.
• Assist in bond subsidy calculations and debt obligations reconciliation.
• Provide system reports for assets, leases, and bonds; support annual inventory.
