Job summary

Northwestern Medicine Huntley Health & Fitness Center seeks a Fitness Manager to lead the Fitness, Aquatic, Group Exercise and Medical Integration departments, ensuring exceptional member experiences and service. You’ll oversee programming profitability and supervise staff across facilities, driving engagement and safety.

The role requires supervisory experience, a health-related degree, and a strong customer-service mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a health-related, exercise science, kinesiology, or physical education major required; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Minimum 2 years in fitness/wellness industry, preferably in a fitness facility.
• Nationally recognized NCCA accredited certification required.
• CPR/AED certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with members.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and supervision to Fitness, Aquatic, Group Exercise, and Medical Integration departments.
• Assist Center Director with daily operations and lead in their absence.
• Drive member retention through programs and engagement.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and physician approvals.
• Oversee budgeting for fitness department operating and capital budgets.
