Job summary

Washington State University’s Finance & Business Services invites applications for a Fiscal Analyst 1 to perform professional fiscal and accounting activities in support of student financial operations within the Bursar’s Office in Pullman, WA. You will analyze, process, reconcile, and monitor student account transactions related to sponsorships, guarantees, veteran benefits, and receivables.

You will work with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Student Financials and related systems, performing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, including at least 18 quarter or 12 semester hours of accounting, auditing or budgeting; OR equivalent education/experience.
• Experience analyzing financial data, fiscal records, or financial systems.
• Experience performing reconciliations and resolving financial discrepancies.
• Experience providing customer service involving explanation of complex fiscal or account information.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, process, reconcile, and monitor student account transactions related to third-party sponsorships, guarantees, veteran benefits, student receivables, and related Student Financials functions.
• Provide functional support for PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Student Financials and related financial systems through item type maintenance, reconciliation, research, reporting, and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with students, sponsors, guarantors, University departments, Financial Aid, Registrar, IT, and other campus partners to ensure accurate processing and compliance with policies.
• Review financial records, research discrepancies, prepare reports, support internal controls, analyze trends, and assist with maintaining integrity of student financial data and related accounting activity.
