Job summary

University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC is seeking a Fiscal Analyst to support accounting operations in the Controller’s Office, including account conversions, commitment accounting, and ledger maintenance.

A bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of related experience is required; experience with PeopleSoft or another ERP system in higher education is preferred. Knowledge of GAAP and strong data analysis will help ensure accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2+ years of job related experience.
• Experience with PeopleSoft or another ERP system in higher education.
• Accounting knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Processes and coordinates account conversions and mapping in accordance with policies.
• Manages the University’s commitment accounting processes and monitors encumbrances.
• Investigates accounting discrepancies and documents resolutions for GL and subledgers.
• Assists with the conversion to a new accounting system including data mapping and testing.
• Maintains the general ledger aligned with chart of accounts structure and reporting needs.
• Reviews existing procedures to identify improvements and support accurate financial reporting.
