Job summary

St. Clair County RESA is hiring for a full-time technical support role in Marysville, MI. The position focuses on PowerSchool FIS management, data integrity, reporting, and user support for district customers.

The ideal candidate has a BS in CS or IS, 2+ years in customer support, familiarity with SQL Server, PowerShell, Python, and PowerSchool environment. Strong communication and teamwork are essential, with a 12-month contract and benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems preferred.
• 2+ years’ customer support experience desired, with knowledge of school business valued.
• PowerSchool Business Plus experience is desired; training provided.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server, database structures, and query writing.
• Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python.
• Ability to learn new applications and systems quickly.
• Ability to support customers of varying skill levels with strong communication.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with coworkers, school districts, and the public.
• Regular and predictable attendance required.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily technical support to customers via telephone, email, and direct contact.
• Prepare training materials, procedural guides, and technical documentation.
• Monitor database performance and assist with updates, patches, and upgrades.
• Develop, modify, and maintain custom reports.
• Create and maintain automated processes using PowerShell, SQL jobs, or scripting languages.
• Support data integrations between FIS PowerSchool and third-party systems.
• Demonstrate problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
• Conduct QA testing and documentation for new applications and features.
• Be self-motivated and willing to take on critical tasks related to applications.
• Assist customers in developing specialized reports and reporting changes.
• Make independent decisions and provide backup support to peers as directed.
