Job summary

Raytheon in Andover, MA is seeking a skilled Machinist to design, fabricate, repair and inspect a range of parts and tooling. The role involves operating CNC, DNC and CAD equipment, and performing precision machining tasks across multiple processes.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma and at least five years of fixturing or tool & die experience, with an apprenticeship preferred. The position is onsite with a starting wage around $41.60 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in fixturing and/or tool & die fabrication.
• Apprenticeship in machinist trade is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates machinery to perform machining, grinding, heat treating, brazing, soldering and welding on various materials.
• Plans layouts, procedures, machines, equipment, parts programs and setups to be used.
• Uses shop mathematics, principles of mechanics and trigonometry.
• Selects tooling and fixturing methods to accommodate fabrication process.
• Calculates and sets machine feeds and speeds; edits programs as necessary.
• Reviews new designs for producibility and performs related duties.
