Job summary

Vertiv Lincoln, Nebraska is seeking a Production Supervisor for 1st Shift to help manage the production floor and ensure safe, efficient operations. You will train staff, monitor equipment, and direct setup and line adjustments to meet product specifications.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of supervisory experience, strong communication skills, and familiarity with MS Office and ERP systems. You will drive continuous improvement and coordinate with engineers and managers to keep production

Qualifications

• 2 to 4 years’ Supervisory experience.
• Good communication skills, both oral and written
• MS Office and ERP systems experience
• Ability to develop and coach a diverse team
• Knowledge of ISO and Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma

Responsibilities

• Ensure production floor and warehouse operate in a safe manner.
• Staffing for the number of machines or production lines; shut down as needed.
• Conduct evaluations and mid-term assessments of personnel.
• Ensure product quality meets specifications per quality spec sheets.
• Communicate concerns or changes in processes to all employees.
• Set production quotas and provide performance feedback.
• Make production-related decisions including task assignments, material handling, and resource allocation.
• Review shift handover information and participate in shift-change meetings.
• Adjust machines or lines to maintain product quality.
• Eliminate overtime unless approved by the Production Manager.
• Prepare operators for shift startup and support as needed to keep production moving.
• Follow engineers and managers' instructions; report production information to managers.
• Keep work areas clean and orderly; identify continuous improvement opportunities.
• Supervise warehouse personnel supporting assembly line; act as backup during absence of Production Manager.
