Job summary

Aerotek in Chicago, IL is seeking an assembler to perform mechanical assembly of small burners and related components, including wiring, using hand and power tools. You'll read blueprints and test assemblies for proper operation and safety on a busy production line.

The role is a Contract to Hire on 1st shift (Mon–Thu 5:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.) with overtime on Fridays. Aerotek offers weekly pay, benefits, and growth opportunities in a family-oriented manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Mechanical assembly experience in a production or assembly line environment.
• Safely uses hand and power tools.
• Reads blueprints, drawings or basic mechanical diagrams.
• Mechanical aptitude and understanding of part fit.
• Comfort with tape measures and basic measuring tools.
• General production or labor experience in manufacturing.
• Follows written and verbal instructions; works independently or in a team.
• Willingness to work 1st shift, Mon–Thu 5:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., with overtime Fridays.
• Prior operating experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assemble small burners and related mechanical components according to blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
• Install and connect wiring and small electrical or mechanical components into the units as required.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to perform assembly tasks.
• Measure and verify parts using tape measures to ensure accurate fit and alignment.
• Test assembled parts and components to confirm proper operation and identify defects.
• Work on an assembly line or general production area to meet daily and weekly production goals.
• Follow standard operating procedures and quality guidelines to maintain product quality.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and handle tools and equipment with care.
• Collaborate with team members in machining and production to support workflow.
• Work scheduled overtime as needed, including some Fridays, to support production demands.
