Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Production Associate in Waukegan, IL for a first-shift role (7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.). You will be trained as a Manufacturing Operator across Assembly, Lapping, Conveyance, and Shipping/Receiving, performing quality checks throughout production.

This full-time, contract-to-hire position offers a climate-controlled environment with strong advancement potential in a well-established manufacturer.

Qualifications

• Entry-level candidates welcome, pass basic math, English, and dexterity tests.
• Experience with mechanical assembly is beneficial.
• Experience in warehouse, shipping, receiving, or order picking is a plus.
• Familiarity with production, packing, and tool usage is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail to avoid assembly errors.
• Willingness to learn multiple manufacturing processes across departments.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical assembly on pumps and valves per specifications.
• Work from drawings/diagrams to assemble parts accurately.
• Handle and assemble small parts and metal components with precision.
• Use hand and power tools safely during tasks.
• Carry out first-piece, in-process, and final inspections and testing.
• Perform quality checks at multiple stages of the process.
• Lift/move materials weighing up to 25 pounds daily.
• Rotate and train across four key departments: Assembly, Lapping, Conveyance, Shipping/Receiving.
• Operate lapping machines to smooth surfaces per spec.
• Pick and deliver parts for assembly and support production flow.
• Assist with warehouse operations including shipping/receiving.
• Follow written assembly and testing instructions.
• Identify/count parts including springs within time limits.
• Connect/operate test equipment for functional tests.
• Maintain clean, safe work area.
• Collaborate with teammates in a cell-based production environment.
