Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Machine Operator I in Shelbyville, IN to set up and operate heavy machinery for cutting, punching, forming, and processing tasks. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and adherence to production schedules within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related manufacturing experience, plus the ability to read a tape measure and operate CNC-controlled equipment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 1 year of related manufacturing experience.
• Minimum 1 year operating manufacturing machinery/equipment.
• Must be able to read a tape measure and use measuring gauges.
• Forklift and crane experience are a plus and trainable.
• Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate heavy machinery for cutting, punching, forming, blocking, and processing operations.
• Follow safety rules and maintain quality standards.
• Read blueprints and specifications to select materials.
• Maintain and perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Provide cost-saving ideas to improve productivity and reduce waste.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area.
