Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. – Programmable Power in San Diego is seeking an Assembler for 1st shift to perform routine electronic and mechanical assembly using blueprints, ECOs, and drawings. You will assemble and inspect components, subassemblies, and finalized units, following standard procedures and safety rules.

The role involves reading drawings, applying process instructions, performing soldering, and possibly training lower-level assemblers. Shift is 5:30 AM–2:00 PM with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of related assembly experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient in reading assembly blueprints and using hand tools.
• Ability to read measuring devices and communicate effectively.
• Basic computer skills and teamwork capability.
• Legal right to work in the U.S. and access export-controlled information.

Responsibilities

• Assemble components to a final configured product using procedures, drawings and tooling.
• Read assembly drawings, parts lists and operation sheets; suggest process improvements.
• Perform rework on test failures per standard repair procedures.
• Solder, place components on circuit boards and rework as needed.
• Ensure product quality and provide training support to junior assemblers.
• Operate assigned machines and handle materials following safety rules.
