Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a 1st Shift Assembler in Oconomowoc, WI for contract-to-hire. You will assemble wheelchair ramps and stair lifts, using hand and power tools, and follow blueprints to ensure quality in a temperature-controlled, on-site facility.

The role runs on first shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with a pay range of $20.00–$22.00 per hour. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, disability and more, with opportunities for growth into fabrication roles.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of mechanical assembly experience in light industrial settings.
• Ability to read basic blueprints and schematics.
• Proficient use of tape measures for accurate layout.
• Experience with common hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, drills).
• Experience with basic power tools and safe operation.
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in production.
• Basic understanding of safety practices in industrial settings.

Responsibilities

• Assemble ramps and stair lifts per blueprints and instructions.
• Build and install 8-foot rail sections with consistent quality.
• Safely use tape measures, hand tools, and power tools.
• Interpret blueprints to complete mechanical assemblies.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and follow safety guidelines.
• Inspect components to ensure quality and safety.
• Collaborate with the team to meet daily goals.
• Report defects or equipment concerns promptly.
• Follow processes and work instructions for efficiency.
