Job summary

EY in the United States seeks a Lead Negotiator – Associate Director to run holistic negotiation strategies for EY’s largest, most complex deals. The role requires operating as first chair, managing the client and EY deal teams, and delivering value-based outcomes.

Successful candidates will have 10+ years of negotiation and contract drafting experience, 7+ years as first chair, and the ability to lead training and presentations on best practices. Travel and flexible hours are often required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience of negotiation and contract drafting experience in commercial and legal terms with substantial experience in the technology services industry (managed services/BPO/system integration/consulting)
• Approximately 7+ years plus of previous “first chair” negotiation experience (in either sales, legal or procurement) in the consulting and managed services industry
• Experience working in a large complex global organization with strong understanding of leading negotiation practices with proven experience
• Experience leading and managing high-performance teams
• University/Bachelors’ degree or equivalent qualification required.
• MBA or master’s degree (or equivalent qualification) in Business or related field preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead the actual negotiation process as first chair with client to move from sold to closed
• Collaborate with EY sales lead on relationship mapping and tiering
• Provide advice and strategies to secure client commitment to a close plan
• Document and finalize terms of the deal in contracting language
• Lead and train pursuit teams on EY negotiation best practices
