Job summary

Hornbeck Offshore seeks a First Assistant Engineer to manage, maintain and operate shipboard engineering systems aboard our offshore vessels. You will represent Company interests and enforce SMS, Code of Conduct and policies with the crew, clients and subcontractors under direction of the Chief Engineer.

You will serve as the Officer in Charge of the Engineering Watch (OICEW), ensuring safe operation of propulsion, power, control, and cargo handling systems, while monitoring seaworthiness, crew

• Implement safety and environmental policies of the Company; communicate orders and ensure SMS/code of conduct adherence.
• Monitor safety and pollution prevention aspects of vessel operations; report deficiencies to Master and Company DPA.
• Serve as OICEW, ensuring safe operation and maintenance of engineering systems in compliance with laws and Company SMS.
