Job summary

Hornbeck Offshore seeks a dedicated Second Assistant Engineer to oversee the shipboard engineering systems, maintain propulsion and power generation, and ensure compliance with the Company SMS and safety policies.

You will support the Chief Engineer, manage engineering crews and subcontractors, and monitor consumables and equipment performance to protect crew, cargo and the environment.

Qualifications

• Valid flag state (and coastal state) credentials for Second Engineer on DP-2 vessels.
• Minimum one year experience as Assistant Engineer on DP-2 class vessels, preferred.
• Ability to read, write and understand English; able to respond to commands in English.

Responsibilities

• Implement safety, environmental protection, SMS, Code of Conduct and Company policies.
• Serve as Officer in Charge of the Engineering Watch (OICEW) as directed by Master.
• Manage engineering crew, vendors and subcontractors; monitor fuel, water, oils, spares and supplies.
