Job summary

Hornbeck Offshore is seeking a skilled First Assistant Engineer to join our vessel engineering team. This role requires oversight of main propulsion, power generation, and all deck and cargo systems, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operations under the Chief Engineer and Master.

Responsibilities include managing engineering watch, supervising crew and vendors, enforcing SMS and company policies, and reporting consumables and equipment performance.

Qualifications

• Possess all valid flag state credentials required for service as First Assistant Engineer.
• A valid Passport is highly preferred.
• A valid riggers certificate from a recognized issuing authority.
• Ability to read and write English and follow commands in English.
• Minimum two years DP-2 class vessel experience at Assistant Engineer level.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safe operation of ship's engineering systems and spaces.
• Manage engineering crew, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Implement SMS, Code of Conduct, and company policies.
• Maintain, monitor, and report fuel, water, oils usage.
• Coordinate with Chief Engineer and Master on engineering watch.
