Job summary

Hornbeck Offshore is seeking a Second Assistant Engineer to act as engineering officer aboard our vessel. You will oversee the management, maintenance, and operation of shipboard engineering systems, enforcing company policies and ensuring compliance with SMS and the Code of Conduct.

Responsibilities

• Implement safety and environmental protection policies of the Company; motivate crew in policy observation; issue and communicate orders and instructions clearly; verify compliance with SMS, Code of Conduct, and Company policies.
• Monitor safety and pollution prevention aspects; ensure adequate resources and shore-based support; report deficiencies to Master and Company DPA.
• Authority to perform responsibilities aboard vessel under licensure; act as Second Assistant Engineer in the Company's capacity as needed.
• Serve as OICEW; ensure safe operation and efficient maintenance of engineering systems in compliance with laws, regulations, and Company SMS.
• Manage engineering crew, vendors, and sub-contractors; oversee service delivery, safety management, HR, and cost management in line with Company policies.
