Job summary

AMD is offering a Firmware Engineering intern/co-op position in Austin, TX. You will work on firmware for AMD's discrete and embedded products, collaborating with team members across design, development, and delivery of firmware for pre-silicon environments.

The role requires pursuing a US-based Master’s program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering, with strong C/C++ skills, embedded systems knowledge, and experience with VHDL/Verilog or hardware concepts

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed Master’s in EE/CS/CE or related field.
• Knowledge of firmware, BIOS, or system software development preferred.
• Strong C/C++ programming and hardware understanding required.
• Experience with source control and debugging from software to hardware.

Responsibilities

• Craft, implement, debug, and validate features on reference hardware and software.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and project planning.
• Create clear documentation for software produced.
• Work on internal and external platforms.
• Learn and apply AGILE methodologies and standard software processes.
