Job summary

AMD is seeking a Firmware Engineering intern/co-op in the United States (Fort Collins, CO and other locations). You will work on firmware for AMD discrete and embedded products, crafting, debugging, and validating features on reference hardware and emulation environments.

You will participate in design and code reviews, build documentation, and apply AGILE methodologies while collaborating across teams on embedded firmware, bootROM/HW, and HW/SW interface issues.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a US-based university in a Bachelor’s program majoring in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Interest in firmware, embedded systems, and firmware development across HW/SW boundaries.
• Willingness to work full-time in a hybrid or onsite setting during the co-op/intern term.

Responsibilities

• Craft, implement, debug, and validate features on reference hardware and software, pre-silicon emulation, and simulation environments.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and project planning.
• Build clear documentation for all software produced and work across internal/external platforms.
• Learn and apply Agile methodologies and standard software engineering processes.
