Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices in Austin, TX invites motivated students for a firmware engineering internship/co‑op. The role spans full‑time work in hybrid or on‑site settings, across Spring/Summer and Summer/Fall terms, with opportunities to work on reference hardware and firmware development for AMD’s products.

You will engage in design reviews, code reviews, and AGILE processes while building thorough documentation and collaborating across teams.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a US university Master’s program in EE/CS or related field.
• Knowledge of C/C++, firmware, or system software development.
• Experience with embedded systems, RTOS, and HW interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Craft, implement, debug, and validate features on reference hardware and software.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews and project planning.
• Build clear documentation for all software produced.
• Work on internal and external platforms and apply AGILE methods.
• Involve in x86 firmware development, Embedded Firmware + Bootrom/HW.
• Troubleshoot FW/HW issues at waveform level.
