Job summary

AMD is seeking a highly motivated Firmware Engineering intern/co-op to join our team in the United States. You will work on firmware for AMD’s discrete and embedded products, crafting, implementing, debugging, and validating features on reference hardware and pre-silicon environments.

This role offers hands-on experience across design reviews, documentation, and AGILE processes, with opportunities to work on embedded firmware, bootrom/HW, and waveform analysis to root-cause FW/HW issues while

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a US university pursuing a Bachelor’s in EE/CS/CE or related field.
• Knowledge of C/C++, embedded systems, or hardware concepts.
• Familiarity with Linux, debuggers, and source control workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop firmware for AMD discrete and embedded products.
• Craft, implement, debug, and validate features on reference hardware and pre-silicon environments.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and project planning.
• Document software produced and apply AGILE processes.
• Work on embedded firmware, Bootrom/HW, and FW/HW debugging.
