Job summary

AMD is seeking a highly motivated Firmware Engineering intern/co-op in the United States. You will join a team delivering firmware for discrete and embedded AMD products, crafting features on reference hardware and pre-silicon environments.

You’ll participate in design reviews, document software, and learn AGILE processes while collaborating across multiple platforms. Qualified candidates are pursuing a US-based Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering with

Qualifications

• C/C++ and hardware knowledge for firmware or system software.
• Experience with embedded firmware development and RTOS.
• Familiarity with version control tools and software workflows.

Responsibilities

• Craft, implement, debug, and validate firmware features on reference hardware and simulations.
• Participate in design/code reviews and project planning activities.
• Create clear documentation for software produced and support multiple AMD platforms.
• Learn and apply AGILE methodologies across firmware projects.
• Work on embedded firmware, boot ROM/HW, and FW/HW boundary debugging with waveform analysis.
