Badger Meter is seeking an Engineer I, Firmware to contribute to embedded systems firmware development and product performance testing. You will support both new product development and existing product maintenance in a production environment, enjoying autonomy, creativity, and collaboration with Engineering leaders.

This role requires willingness to learn, work effectively in a multi-discipline team, and demonstrate initiative in problem-solving.

Formación

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or CS/Software/Firmware Engineering.
• Basic working design knowledge of embedded microcontroller/microprocessor firmware (C, C++, etc.).
• Familiar with revision control systems (Git or SVN).
• Basic understanding of digital circuit design and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with schematics for digital circuits using ECAD tools (Altium, PCAD, or Protel).
• Experience with test instruments such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, data acquisition systems, and environmental chambers for troubleshooting PCBs and electronic products. (Preferred)
• Experience working with other company departments on occasion in technical support of products. (Preferred)
• Experience debugging and prototyping embedded systems (Preferred).

Responsabilidades

• Design firmware component/portion of a project with oversight.
• Provide firmware support for product and sustaining engineering with oversight from more senior engineers.
• Perform product and design verification tests.
• Assist in defining plans/production implementations.
• Write product work instructions/process documents.
• Initiate and implement engineering change requests.
• Participates in multi-discipline project teams, provide input into project schedules, budgets and risks.
