Badger Meter in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Firmware Test Engineer I to join our embedded systems team. You will maintain firmware products, assist in coding, testing, and debugging, and help ensure rapid validation of new features for internal and external customers.

The role emphasizes test automation, hardware and software fixtures, and collaboration with engineers and QA to meet reliability and performance goals.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience with Python and C programming for firmware testing and automation.
• Experience developing, maintaining, and enhancing automated test applications in Python.
• Familiarity with embedded systems, firmware concepts, and serial communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C).
• Ability to work with IDEs (Visual Studio Code) and source control (Git).

Mansioni

• Develop and execute firmware verification and validation test plans based on design specifications.
• Develop and maintain test procedures, test reports, and engineering documentation.
• Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks, scripts, and tools to improve firmware test coverage.
• Design, develop, and maintain hardware and software test fixtures for firmware validation.
• Perform manual and automated testing of embedded systems throughout the product lifecycle.
• Collaborate with Engineers, QA, and Operations to meet reliability and performance goals.
• Assist in root cause investigations of product, field, and customer issues.
• Travel to customer sites for beta testing and issue investigations as needed.
