Job summary

Badger Meter, Inc. seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead PCB and embedded hardware development from concept through production. You will design analog/digital circuits, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate across functions to deliver robust, certified hardware.

You’ll work hands-on with hardware verification, debugging, and sustaining engineering in a fast-paced, innovative environment that values quality and impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of professional electrical/electronic product development experience.
• Strong PCB hardware design experience for embedded or stand-alone systems.
• Strong analog and digital circuit design knowledge.
• Experience with embedded microcontrollers/ARM-based architectures.
• Hands-on experience with Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Lifecycle development from design to production and strong troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical hardware on product development projects, owning PCB and component-level circuit design.
• Design and develop PCB-based hardware for embedded products.
• Support hardware selection, prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Plan and execute design verification testing to meet UL/CSA, CE/EMC, and FM standards.
• Develop production test methodologies, fixtures, specs, and procedures.
• Troubleshoot PCBs and electronic products using oscilloscopes, power supplies, DAQ, and environmental test chambers.
• Create hardware design documentation, work instructions, and engineering change requests.
• Provide advanced electrical hardware support for sustaining engineering and manufacturing.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define schedules, budgets, requirements, and risks.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
