Job summary

AMD is seeking a highly motivated Firmware Engineering intern/co-op in San Jose, CA. You will join a team developing firmware for discrete and embedded products, working on reference hardware, pre-silicon environments, and debugging across FW/HW boundaries.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in a US university Master’s program in EE, CS, or CE, with experience in C/C++, embedded systems, Linux, and version control. This is a hybrid/onsite role lasting several terms.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a US-based university master's program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of C/C++, firmware or system software development.
• Experience with Linux, embedded systems, and hardware concepts.

Responsibilities

• Craft, implement, debug and validate firmware features on reference hardware and software, pre-silicon emulation and simulation environments.
• Actively participate in design reviews, code reviews and project planning.
• Build and complete clear documentation for all software produced.
• Work on internal and external platforms and apply AGILE methodologies.
