Job summary

Everforth Apex Systems in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Firewall Engineer to administer roles and access within the Palo Alto environment and to support secure remote connectivity using Prisma Access.

You will manage an access provisioning queue, help design role-based access structures amid organizational changes, and collaborate with business stakeholders to align application requirements with security policies. This is a 12+ month contract with 4 onsite days and 1 remote day each week.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in firewall/security
• Palo Alto firewall/VPN expertise
• Experience with Prisma Access VPN
• Experience with Prisma Browser
• Experience with Strata Cloud Manager

Job Description: This Firewall Engineer will be responsible for administering roles and access privileges within the Palo Alto environment, supporting remote access across the organization. The company utilizes Prisma Access for VPN connectivity and Prisma Browser for secure remote access. This role will primarily manage an access request queue, ensuring timely and accurate provisioning, while also contributing to the design and implementation of new roles and group-based access structures. With significant organizational changes on the horizon impacting user groups, this individual will collaborate closely with business stakeholders to identify application requirements and align access appropriately. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and the ability to balance stakeholder engagement with focused, independent work in a high-volume, task-driven environment.
