Job summary

Allied Universal in East Chicago, IN is seeking a Shift Captain to oversee Emergency Response Officers on a highly regulated site with fire prevention and HazMat responsibilities.

The role requires Firefighter II (Indiana), Hazmat Operations, NFPA readiness, and a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation. You will lead incident response, coordinate on-site security operations, and ensure compliance with safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• For driving positions, 18+ with a valid driver’s license.
• Background check and post-offer drug/alcohol test required.
• Maintain active required licenses while on duty.
• Must display customer service and communication skills.
• Intermediate computer skills for wireless technology at client sites.
• Training in incident command or NICs is required.
• Must pass Transportation Worker Identification Card screening.
• If not certified in emergency medical care, training to First Responder level may be required.
• Must pass state fit test and NFPA physical.

Responsibilities
