Job summary

Burleson Fire Department is hiring firefighters with paramedic qualifications. Starting pay is $79,250 with $4,800 paramedic certification pay; Firefighter/EMT starting pay is $74,450. Paramedic certification is preferred, and a Texas Class B license is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• Must have Texas certifications: TCFP Basic Fire Certification and EMT or Paramedic; OR Paramedic certification.
• Hold reciprocity certification from another state or IFSAC/National Registry.
• After assignment, you must complete required courses and credentialing processes.
• Valid Texas Class 'B' Driver License with good driving record within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Responds to all fire, rescue, medical, and other calls for service up to and including ALS/Mobile Integrated Health depending on certification.
• Sustains a high level of preparedness for emergencies.
• Maintains station, vehicles and equipment for fire suppression/prevention.
