Job summary

The City of Leon Valley is seeking qualified Firefighter/Paramedics to join an all-hazards Fire Department delivering Fire, EMS, Rescue, Investigative and Fire Prevention services. This new station provides living quarters and 10 private rooms for firefighters, with cutting-edge training opportunities.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma or GED, Texas firefighter certification or EMT/Paramedic credentials, and a valid Texas driver's license.

Qualifications

• Paramedic certification or EMT credentials required or pursuing paramedic training.
• State-required basic firefighter certification is mandatory.
• Driver's license valid in Texas is required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to Fire, EMS, Rescue, Investigative and Fire Prevention calls.
• Participate in ongoing training and certifications.
• Maintain equipment readiness and perform pre- and post-incident checks.

The City of Leon Valley is recruiting qualified individuals for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic. The City of Leon Valley is located in northwest Bexar County and serves a population of 11,900 residents and is surrounded by the City of San Antonio. The fire department responds to approximately 2500 emergency responses per year. Our station is a new station with living quarters, individual rooms for 10 fire fighters. We staff an all-hazards response fire department providing Fire, EMS, Rescue, Investigative and Fire Prevention services to the community. SALARY: The average annual salary for a Firefighter/Paramedic is $72,046, includes certification pay.
