Job summary

Gfoat in Texas is seeking a Firefighter to protect life and property through fire suppression, EMS, rescue operations, and prevention programs. You will respond to emergencies, provide patient care, and operate fire and rescue equipment while maintaining readiness and equipment.

The role requires physical stamina, teamwork, and commitment to community service, with opportunities for ongoing training, public education, inspections, and related duties to support the department's mission.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic Firefighter Certification by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection.
• TDSHS EMT-Paramedic Certification.
• Current Class B Texas Driver’s License or ability to obtain during first year of employment.

The position requires the ability to perform physically demanding tasks in dynamic and stressful environments while demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and a commitment to serving the community. Firefighters are expected to participate in training, public education initiatives, inspections, and other duties as assigned to support the mission of the department.

Compensation and Benefits

$83,957.18 base annual salary (includes base pay and paid holidays)
FLSA overtime is paid in addition to the listed annual salary

Certificate Pay:
Intermediate Firefighter - $1,224.00 annually
Advanced Firefighter - $1,314.00 annually
Master Firefighter - $1,410.00 annually
Associate Degree - $720.00 annually
Bachelor’s Degree - $1,440.00 annually
FTO - $1,200.16 annually
