Job summary

City of Clinton is seeking a dedicated Firefighter/Medic to protect lives, property, and the environment through rapid response, firefighting, and EMS. The role includes weekend/evening work, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for professional growth.

While on the job, you will respond to fire and medical emergencies, operate firefighting apparatus, and participate in public education efforts. A valid TN driver’s license and FF I certification (EMR/EMT preferred) are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; related coursework in public administration or related field encouraged.
• Minimum two years full-time work experience.
• Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Tennessee driver’s license by date of hire.
• Tennessee Fire Fighter I or above certification; EMR; EMT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain readiness for emergency call response (fire, medical, disasters).
• Respond to alarms, operate pumps, ladders, and other fire apparatus.
• Administer first-aid per Tennessee First Responder guidelines.
• Perform salvage/overhaul, debris removal, and water cleanup.
• Keep records, logs, and reports; assist in public education and station/gear maintenance.
