Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency.
• EMT-Basic certification as required by state.
• TCFP Basic Structural Firefighter certification or higher.
• Texas Class B Exempt driver’s license or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
• NIMS 100/200/700/800 certifications.

Responsibilities

• Responds to emergencies including fires, medical incidents, extrications, and hazardous material calls.
• Operates and drives fire apparatus safely in emergency and non-emergency situations.
• Inspects fire equipment and ensures all apparatus are in working order.
• Maintains daily logs, training records, NFIRS, and PCRs.
• Presents educational programs to the community on fire safety and prevention.
