Job summary

Gfoat seeks a dedicated Firefighter/EMT to respond to fires, medical emergencies, hazmat, and other incidents under supervision of the station officer. You will provide prehospital Basic Life Support and document care per protocols.

Responsibilities include equipment checks, drills, community safety activities, and driving fire apparatus per FHFD procedures. Strong communication and physical endurance are essential.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain a high school diploma or acceptable equivalent (GED).
• Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Class "B" (Non-CDL) Driver's License.
• Must possess and maintain a Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) Basic Firefighter Certification; Intermediate or Advanced Firefighter Certification preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct emergency medical care and patient assessment per standing orders, protocols, and medical direction.
• Operate fire apparatus, lay hoses, extinguish fires, and use fire suppression tools.
• Accurately document patient care and complete written/verbal reports for ambulance crew.
• Inspect and maintain apparatus, inventory, and equipment; report repairs as needed.
• Participate in drills, training evolutions, and community safety programs.
