Job summary

Rural King is seeking a Firearms Sales Associate in Morganton, NC to deliver exceptional customer service and expert firearm knowledge. You will engage customers, assist with product selection, and ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local laws while maintaining a safe, well-presented firearms department.

You will also process transactions, stay informed on product trends, upsell where appropriate, and contribute to store loyalty and protection plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; firearms safety training is a plus.
• Previous experience in firearms sales or related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local firearms laws and regulations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to actively listen and respond clearly.
• Excellent attention to detail and organization.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with computer systems for transactions and record-keeping.
• Commitment to safe shopping environment and integrity.
• Discretion and confidentiality in handling information.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and create a welcoming atmosphere in the firearms department.
• Engage customers to understand needs, preferences, and budget.
• Provide expert guidance and unbiased product recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with all firearms laws and regulations.
• Complete required firearm compliance training and SOP understanding.
• Assist with selecting ammunition and accessories.
• Maintain organized, labeled, and priced firearms displays.
• Process transactions accurately and efficiently at the POS.
• Stay updated on firearm trends and product knowledge.
• Address customer questions and resolve issues or elevate to supervisor.
• Build long-term relationships to generate repeat business and referrals.
• Demonstrate features and benefits; conduct product demos as needed.
• Utilize upselling and cross-selling techniques to increase sales.
• Promote RKFPPP and store loyalty program.
• Process special orders and returns; assist with visual merchandising.
• Participate in cross-training across departments.
• Engage in training programs and webinars for growth.
• Provide friendly internal and external support promptly.
