Job summary

Rural King is seeking a Firearms Sales Associate to deliver exceptional customer service and expert firearm knowledge in our store. You will help customers select products, ensure safety and compliance, and maintain a welcoming shopping environment while promoting store programs and exclusive offers.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, understanding needs, guiding purchases, and handling transactions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; firearms safety training is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly as they enter the department to set a welcoming tone.
• Engage customers to understand needs, preferences, and budget constraints.
• Provide expert guidance and unbiased product recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations for firearms sales and transfers.
• Complete required firearms compliance training and SOP understanding.
• Assist customers with selecting ammunition, accessories, and related products.
• Maintain organized firearms displays with accurate labeling and pricing.
• Process transactions accurately and efficiently, including documentation.
• Stay updated on firearm trends and models to inform recommendations.
• Address customer questions promptly and escalate to a supervisor when needed.
• Build long-term customer relationships to generate repeat business.
• Demonstrate product features and conduct demonstrations when necessary.
• Utilize upselling and cross-selling techniques to increase sales.
• Promote exclusive offers and the RK Firearms Plus Protection Plan.
• Handle special orders, operate the POS, and resolve returns.
• Contribute to visual merchandising and store cleanliness in the firearms area.
• Participate in cross-training for flexibility across departments.
