Job summary

USCG Base Cape Cod MWR is seeking a Sales Clerk Leader (Firearms) in Centreville, VA. The role requires strong firearms knowledge, retail leadership, and strict adherence to ATF and federal regulations.

You will supervise staff, manage inventory, assist customers with merchandise selection, and support loss prevention and safety programs. The position involves weekend work, cash handling, and ensuring accurate firearms paperwork.

Qualifications

• Prior retail experience in inventory control and retail sales.
• Current Seller ID per FFL process or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire and demonstrated firearms retail experience.
• Ability to routinely lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Oversee firearms department operations and ensure compliance with all firearm rules and forms.
• Welcome customers and assist in firearm and merchandise selection with product knowledge.
• Operate a cash register and handle daily cash reporting per procedures.
• Open/close the store as required and supervise other employees when management is absent.
• Support loss prevention and safety procedures and manage weekend shifts.
