Job summary

Scheels in West Des Moines, IA is seeking a Gun Customer Service associate to greet customers and accurately process transactions while following ATF laws. This role requires being at least 21 due to firearms compliance.

Responsibilities include gun room upkeep, firearm background checks, promoting Scheels Visa, and ensuring each transaction ends with thanks. Training and benefits offered; part-time schedule ~20–25 hours weekly with evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 months of cashiering experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet all customers with a smile and engage in conversation to provide personalized service.
• Accurately scan items and ensure they are properly rung and paid for before purchase.
• Promote the Scheels Visa card and explain benefits clearly.
• Assist with firearm background checks and firearm-related transactions.
• Process returns and exchanges for firearm purchases.
• Assist with Gun Room housekeeping and maintain safety, cleanliness and order.
• Ensure all ATF federal laws and guidelines are followed during processing.
