Job summary

Total Safety U.S., Inc. is seeking a Fire Technician to join our safety-focused team.

You will perform service, inspection, testing, maintenance and repair for fire equipment including extinguishers, life-saving devices, and fire protection systems at customer sites. The role requires driving to sites, completing all inspection paperwork, and adhering to OSHA, NFPA, and Coast Guard/ABS regulations where offshore.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license from state of residence and valid proof of vehicle insurance.
• Must possess a safe driving record and be insurable for Total Safety vehicle insurance.
• Forklift experience is a plus and forklift certification may be required.
• Must be willing to travel to customer sites, including offshore projects.
• Must be able to obtain TWIC card and pass required safety training (e.g., OSHA 10).
• Have or obtain State Fire Licenses or NICET II testing within 12 months of hire.
• Demonstrated ability to operate electronic safety equipment and understand fire systems and components.
• Knowledge of applicable standards (State/OSHA/NFPA) and CFR/regulations when offshore.

Responsibilities

• Performs shop service and/or field inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of fire equipment.
• Completes all inspection and repair documentation and obtains customer signatures for invoicing.
• Learns to conduct detailed visual inspections and system functional tests and report deficiencies.
• Pre- and post-job briefs and setup.
• Assists with stocking, staging and loading equipment for delivery.
• Maintains clean and orderly work areas and vehicle upkeep.
• Operates a wide range of safety equipment and PPE as required.
• Works in a team environment and adapts to additional responsibilities.
