Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Suppression Technician to service, repair, inspect, troubleshoot, and install portable fire extinguishers, kitchen hood systems, and suppression gas systems at customer sites. You will work with clean agent systems, dry chemical systems, and special hazards, handling diverse building system products.

This role requires a high school diploma, strong communication/git skills, customer-focused service, and PC proficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.
• Outstanding customer-facing service and problem-solving abilities are required.
• PC skills including Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to read/interpret technical documents such as blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, schematics, and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform service and repairs on portable fire extinguishers, kitchen hood systems, and suppression gas systems at customer sites.
• Service, troubleshoot, and install equipment from multiple manufacturers, including Simplex and ANSUL.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and manuals.
• Manage daily service calls and customer activity.
• Work with clean agent systems, dry chemical systems, and special hazards.
• Perform inspections of suppression gas systems based on contract requirements.
• Inspect customer systems and use smartphone-based tools and field equipment to complete work.
• Assist customers with questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency service support.
