Job summary

S.A. Comunale Co., Inc. is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Layout Technician to join our growing mechanical and fire protection team. This is a highly specialized role with strong demand across our projects.

We’re interested in experienced technicians ready to take on large, complex work. Flexible work arrangements (on-site, hybrid, or remote) and locations are available depending on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of fire protection design experience required.
• Engineering background a plus.
• Mechanical aptitude required.
• Proficiency in Hydratec CAD or AutoSPRINK required.
• NICET certification a plus.
• Ability to perform field surveys for dimensions and information.
• Willingness to travel to job sites by plane or vehicle.
• Strong organization, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design sprinkler layouts per NFPA standards and project documents.
• Identify hazards and select appropriate protection for contracts.
• Coordinate with trades, manage budget considerations, and resolve issues.
• Prepare drawings, hydraulic calculations, material takeoffs, and submittals.
• Complete project paperwork for internal processes, AHJ approvals, and GC requirements.
• Lead or assist junior team members and report status to the Manager.
• Ensure compliance with safety practices and company objectives.
