Job summary

S.A. Comunale is seeking a sprinkler designer to provide high-quality fire protection designs in line with NFPA and building standards.

You will draft drawings, estimate design hours, and coordinate with multiple trades on both routine and complex projects to meet annual objectives and safety goals. The role requires proficiency with AutoCAD/AutoSPRINK, Hydratec CAD or similar tools, andTravel to job sites as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of fire protection design experience required.
• Engineering background is a plus.
• Proficiency in Hydratec CAD or AutoSPRINK required.
• NICET certification is a plus.
• Willingness to travel to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Create and draft sprinkler designs within NFPA, building and underwritten standards.
• Complete sprinkler drawings and identify building construction type per NFPA.
• Identify hazard types and appropriate protection; estimate design hours.
• Coordinate with other trades on complex projects.
• Develop clash reports with Navis Works and ensure design quality.
• Prepare project paperwork: test papers, permits, punch lists.
• Lead or mentor trainees and junior designers when needed.
• Communicate status to managers and coordinate with other departments.
