Job summary

The Hiller Companies, a global fire protection leader, is hiring a Fire Sprinkler Service Technician to inspect, test, repair, and maintain sprinkler systems at customer sites. You will work with clients, contractors, and regulators to ensure safety and code compliance.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma (technical fire alarm training preferred), CalFire Fitter Card, NICET certifications, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in fire alarm systems or related field preferred.
• CalFire Certified Fitter Card is required.
• Solid understanding of fire protection codes, standards, and NFPA requirements.
• NICET certifications strongly preferred.
• Experience in installation, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems in commercial/industrial settings.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and willingness to travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, repair, and maintain fire sprinkler systems to NFPA standards.
• Prepare detailed inspection and test reports documenting findings and deficiencies.
• Test system components: sprinkler heads, valves, piping, pumps, and controls.
• Inspect piping, fittings and connections for corrosion, leaks or damage; recommend repairs.
• Perform maintenance of sprinkler systems, replace defective parts, clean components; adjust settings.
• Test Fire pump assemblies: flow, pressure, mechanical integrity.
• Respond to service calls and emergencies; diagnose and resolve issues.
• Document all service activities in the Service Trade platform and client notes.
• Coordinate with Deficiency Sellers to prepare repair estimates and reports.
• Interact professionally with clients; discuss findings and recommendations for upgrades.
• Coordinate with Service Coordinators to optimize orders and scheduling.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and adhere to safety protocols.
