Job summary

Henderson Engineers is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Engineer III to design and coordinate building systems for mission-critical projects. The role emphasizes independent calculation work, development of layouts, and collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams to meet project goals.

You will mentor junior staff, engage with clients, and contribute to design and process improvements while adhering to Henderson's guidelines and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, fire protection, or architectural) with 6 years of relevant experience, or 8 years with a high school diploma.
• PE license required; may count toward 1 year of experience.
• FE exam preferred; relevant certifications and accreditations (e.g., BEMP, CPD, CDP, NICET, RCDD) are a plus.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit and Bluebeam Revu; strong design and codes knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Performs calculations and designs basic to advanced engineering systems with a high degree of independence.
• Prepares system layouts, drawings and schematics.
• Reviews shop drawings for conformance to plans and specs.
• Mentors less experienced designers and provides technical guidance to the team.
• Supports project management and client coordination activities.
