Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer to support the preparation of detailed CAD drawings for the placement of sprinkler products and systems. You will create accurate layouts, apply NFPA standards, and coordinate with internal teams and installation partners to ensure code-compliant designs ready for field execution.

The role involves hydraulic calculations, field verifications, and collaboration with sales and district teams to meet contract timelines.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of fire sprinkler design experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD, HydraCAD, Sprinkler Design Software, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed CAD drawings for sprinkler system placement.
• Interpret NFPA standards and apply them to building type and construction features.
• Design and layout sprinkler systems using AutoCAD-based software and coordinate piping with other components.
• Perform hydraulic calculations to support design accuracy.
• Conduct field checks to verify design accuracy before installation.
• Coordinate with district contracting teams on contracts, schedules, and delivery needs.
• Assist sales with design estimates.
• Mentor others in accurate sprinkler design execution.
