Job summary

Cosco Fire Protection is seeking a CAD designer to support the Engineering department by creating routine layouts of fire sprinkler systems, including detail drawings and diagrams for installation. You will assist with changes, maintain drawings in the database, and perform basic calculations under supervision.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and substantial CAD drafting experience in fire protection, with strong attention to accuracy, geometry, and dimensions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and five to 15 years related experience in the design of fire protection systems.
• Ability to read blueprints for fire sprinkler layout.
• Proficient in CAD and Microsoft Office.
• NICET Level 1 Certification.
• Familiarity with NFPA 13 and related codes.
• Strong drafting and mathematical skills.

Responsibilities

• Designs fire protection sprinkler systems with accuracy and detail for field installation.
• Reviews work orders to determine critical dimensions within allocated hours.
• Calculates figures to convert design dimensions for production and installation.
• Submits design plans for leadership approval and obtains permits as required.
• Key in information to produce graphic representations for review.
• Drafts detailed multi-view drawings of layouts and systems.
