Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer to create detailed CAD drawings for efficient system placement. You will apply NFPA standards, coordinate with project teams, and perform hydraulic calculations to ensure accurate, install-ready designs.

The role requires 1–5 years of sprinkler design experience and proficiency with AutoCAD/HydraCAD. NICET III is preferred. A competitive hourly wage and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1–5 years of fire sprinkler design experience.
• Working experience with AutoCAD, HydraCAD, Sprinkler Design Software.
• NICET Level III in Water-Based Systems Layout (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed CAD drawings for sprinkler system placement.
• Apply NFPA standards to design and layout based on building type and features.
• Design sprinkler layouts using CAD packages and coordinate piping with building components.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and verify design accuracy in the field checks.
• Collaborate with district contracting teams on design and delivery timelines.
• Mentor colleagues in sprinkler design practices and share expertise.
• Assist the sales team with design estimates as needed.
